Scallabrine Crushes Amateurs

Sam Parr shares a story about Brian Scalabrine, former NBA player, proving the massive skill gap between pro athletes and regular people.

"Brian Scalabrine played for the Celtics - he's like a redhead, 6'9", huge guy. After he retired, he starts playing rec leagues and he would score like 60 points a game, just crushing these guys. He doesn't brag about it too much, but then online he mentions 'Yeah, I got 60 points last night in my rec league.'

People online start chirping at him hard saying 'Dude you suck, I could beat you' or 'I don't even know how you made it in the NBA.' He goes 'Wait a minute, maybe I suck compared to Derrick Rose but I don't suck compared to any of you guys.'

So he starts doing this tour where he goes to all these basketball courts - the hoodest of the hood basketball court, the best YMCA - all around the country. He challenges people saying 'Come play me one-on-one.' He destroys them. He would beat them like 10-nothing. He said 'I let them get one just to figure out what they're gonna do.'

He's got this awesome quote that he said to this 18-year-old kid after crushing him: 'Let's get something straight - I'm closer to LeBron than you are to me.' He called it the Scallenge. It just shows you there's levels to greatness."
