Uber's Rejected Revolution

Greg shares a story about his friend who passed on investing in Uber's seed round in Manhattan.

"I have a friend, one of the smartest guys I know, who Garrett [Camp] pitched in the seed round of Uber. This was in Manhattan, and my friend was just like 'Garrett, I don't know what you're thinking about man. People aren't gonna press a button and a car is gonna come? You raise your hand [in NYC] and the car comes!'

He was saying it wasn't a 10x better product. But what's interesting is while it wasn't necessarily revolutionary in New York, it solved major problems in many other places. It's similar to how people react to crypto today - they say 'Look, I can pay with a credit card just fine,' but they don't realize that while it might not solve their specific problem, it's going to solve somebody else's."
