Sticker Campaign Drives Replies

Sam Parr shares a story about how The Hustle newsletter used engagement tactics to measure reader activity.
"At The Hustle, we would measure engagement through replies. Every once in a while, I would purposely write about something controversial or have typos. At the bottom of the email, I would ask questions like 'What city are you in?' or 'Take a picture of your workspace.'
There was a time where at the very bottom of the email, we said we're going to send out stickers to everyone that replies. We got like 10,000 replies, so we had to mail out 10,000 stickers. This was significant because we got 10,000 replies from just 100,000 subscribers. Anytime we got a reply from an email, that was a really good sign."
