A story about how Sarah Michelle built and sold a successful test prep business for nurse practitioners in just two years.
"She built this business called NP Reviews. Basically, she built a course prep business and sold it for more than $10 million in 2 years. What she did was build test prep for nurse practitioners - like Kaplan but for the nurse practitioner exam.
She says 'Hey, you're in school to become a nurse practitioner, you have this big test coming up - it's like your version of MCATs or LSATs if you're a lawyer.' She funnels people into a Facebook group saying 'Join the group of 25,000 other people who have passed this exam.' They can buy different courses - $300 a month, $130 a month, or $100 a month, whichever test they're planning to take.
She built this thing up and sold it to a company called Blueprint that's basically rolling up these test prep businesses. The whole thing runs on Kajabi, a $100 a month software. Her website is simple, maybe 8 or 9 pages, with webinars, different offerings, and the Facebook group. She has a 99% pass rate amongst her students and positions herself authentically saying 'I was in your shoes, feeling anxiety as you prepare for your nurse practitioner boards. You're not alone.'"
