Brooklyn Nanny Protectors

Sam Parr tells a story about how he and other strangers from different backgrounds came together to protect harassed nannies in Brooklyn.

"I was out in Brooklyn in this park in front of my house doing push-ups and sit-ups and walking my dog. I see these 4 nannies skedaddle out of an area where they're sitting, and then I see this guy who's clearly harassing them coming after them.

I run over there and they're like, 'This guy just spit on us, he's acting crazy, he's bothering us.' So I give my dog's leash to them and walk over to talk to the guy to get him to go away. It's clearly going to become a fist fight, and then 5 other guys who are around the street just come over. One was a Dominican guy, another was a Black guy, and there I am standing shirtless in bright green running shorts with a fanny pack on and AirPods still in my ear.

We just corralled these women - a Jamaican nanny, an Asian nanny, an older white woman - in this circle, and we're standing there like elephants guarding their herd. At the end, the crazy person walked away and we just looked at each other like 'job well done.' Who cares about our backgrounds, who cares what we look like - we're champions of the nannies."
