Sam Parr shares a story about meeting a successful entrepreneur named Val from Uzbekistan who built multiple successful businesses.
"I met this guy Val last week. He's a Jewish immigrant from Uzbekistan. At age 18, he started a cell phone ringtone business where he was the only employee. By year 3, when he was 21, it was doing $10 million in revenue - and since he was the only employee, revenue and profits were basically the same thing.
After that, he started MobileFuse, an ad tech company - pretty big business, probably doing $50-60 million in revenue. Then he noticed peer-to-peer lending was getting popular, so he got into that space.
The interesting thing about this guy is everything he's done has been bootstrapped, no outside funding, and all in completely different industries. And when I googled him, he's totally under the radar - has like no followers on Twitter, 200 followers on Instagram where he just posts vacation pictures with his family. Just shows you don't need to build an audience or be famous to build successful businesses."
