Private Jet Family Balance
Share
Sam Parr shares a story about how he balanced family commitments with an unexpected private jet opportunity.
"This year I had to go to LA for a Hampton thing where I had to interview Rob Dyrdek in front of a bunch of people. Someone mentioned they were going back to LA with their wealthy famous friend who had a private jet. I had committed to putting my baby to sleep that night, as I promised to be there every night.
I told them I didn't want to sound like a douche, but I couldn't go because they wanted to leave at 6 and I needed to be there until 8:30. They said they'd wait until 8:30. Then I mentioned my friend Neville was coming with me tomorrow morning, and I couldn't bail on him. They said they had room for him too.
So my best friend Neville and I flew to LA on this wealthy famous person's private jet, and I got to spend 3 hours learning from this guy. It was so fun and awesome. Not just because we were flying private, but because I got to do this adventure with my friend. That was the best moment I had all year.
Ironically, on the way back, because we had to change our flights, we flew Southwest next to the toilet. It was a very ying and yang situation, but it was still fantastic."
