NYC Spontaneous Gathering Success

Sam tells a story about organizing an impromptu meetup in NYC with his podcast subscribers.

"On Sunday night, I tweeted that I rented an Airbnb and wanted to host a meetup. I got 200 replies, but I could only let 20 Trend subscribers come. Around 30 people ended up showing up and it was awesome.

We had zero preparation. Me and Adam landed, and on Monday morning we went to the Mexican place next door and said 'Hey, can you bring over enough tacos for 20 people?' We gave them $300 and told them to buy some beer.

We had some fascinating people show up. One guy, who was in his forties or fifties, built custom electric cars. He took pickup trucks and converted them into electric delivery vans for a cannabis company in LA. Another guy, Hunter Fairchild, came up from Virginia - he sells breast implants for a living. His boss invented a better implant technology.

It was crazy - this one kid even flew up from South Carolina just for the meetup. These people are fanatical, it's really odd but amazing."
