Mets Trumpet Entrance
Share
Shaan tells a story about an impressive entrance show at a Mets baseball game that demonstrates the power of showmanship.
"I saw this viral clip of the pitcher on the Mets coming out to pitch. He's the closer, and normally on TV they cut to commercial during the lineup change. But this time they stuck with it.
They showed him from behind walking out, emerging into the stadium with this dope camera shot. He normally comes out to this song by Timmy Trumpets, but the Mets had brought the guy there live. He was kind of hiding, and he comes out with his trumpet with a microphone on the end, and starts playing the song live while the guy's running out into the roaring crowd.
Nobody is that passionate about our podcast or about software, but when this moment hits - the guy runs out, he's the hero, the trumpet guy's there playing, the crowd's going nuts - it was just this special moment. It was a lot of showmanship. I will never watch baseball, but I'm a fan of this guy and that song now. That's how powerful good showmanship can be."
