Elon's $20M Meeting Rule
Share
A story about how Elon Musk values his time in meetings, shared by Sam Parr and Shaan Puri.
"There was one guy there who said he worked with Elon. He had to do a meeting with Elon and the secretary told him 'You're gonna do this meeting but I need you to know that Elon makes his companies make $20 million every hour, so this better be a $20 million meeting.'
I heard a similar thing from another guy who worked with him. Elon would have meetings with 40 or 50 people in the room. Not because that makes for a more effective meeting, but because if the person we need to talk to is not in this room, it's such a colossal waste of his time. We'll just fly everybody here for this 45-minute block. That way everybody's here because all of your time collectively is not worth as much as his hour."
