MrBeast's Local Dubbing Strategy
Share
A story about how Mr. Beast cleverly uses local celebrity voice actors to dub his content in different countries.
"First he exploded his growth by being one of the few American YouTubers to create separate pages for Brazil, Philippines, Indonesia - creating separate accounts for all those localized markets. He hired somebody who speaks the language to manage each page.
When it came to dubbing the content, I asked him 'Do you dub it?' He said 'Yeah, we dub it but we hire voice actors.' I was excited to tell him 'You can use AI' and he goes 'Yeah, I'm sure you can, but what we do is we find the guy who did the Spiderman voice in Brazil, and he does my dub for pretty cheap.'
Then every comment is 'Holy shit it's Spider-Man!' He's getting crazy engagement because they're like 'That's Spider-Man!' He's like 'Yeah it costs me like an extra $5, but look at what it did to my page.'
They turned that into an agency where they do it for other people as well. Of all his businesses, this is like the most underrated one because it's genius - it's selling your sawdust, your byproduct. Stuff you've already built in-house, you're just making it available for others."
