Cathedral's Telecom Revenue
Share
Steph Smith shares a story about how churches, particularly the National Cathedral, generate revenue by renting out their steeples to telecom companies.
"The National Cathedral in Washington is paid $100,000 a year just for access to their 234-foot tower by Motorola. Some churches are even building steeples they don't even have because they heard other churches are getting $100k a year and they want that too.
This is just one example of how real estate can be used in creative ways to generate income. Churches can do this specifically due to the height of their buildings and steeples - telecom companies will pay these churches for access to put their equipment there."
