ChatGPT Teaches Shark Facts

A story about how Shaan Puri uses ChatGPT to teach his children about sharks and answer their questions.

"I play games with my kids using ChatGPT. My son has all these sharks, and we take pictures because he asks me questions like 'What is this shark?' and I wouldn't know the answer. As a parent, I always dreaded questions like 'Where does rain come from?' because I'd give incomplete answers like 'It's in the clouds' and then they'd ask 'How does it get in the clouds?' and I'd say something like 'I think it was in the ocean and then zipped up there because it was hot.'

So now I use ChatGPT voice mode. I'll send it a picture and say 'Tell me what these sharks are from left to right' and it reads it out to my kids. Then my kid can ask questions like 'Which one is the strongest shark?' and it'll respond 'Actually, the great white shark is the strongest shark with the most powerful bite.' Then he'll say 'What if it was with a cheetah?' and it'll explain 'Well, the cheetah wouldn't be in the ocean but if it was in the ocean...' It interacts with my kids and we have a fun time. They tell me all the time now 'Can we play with AI?'"
