NBA Trainer Trust Building

A story about how Ben (Shaan's business partner) made an incredible connection with an NBA trainer at a conference, demonstrating his unique ability to build trust quickly.

"At this event, Ben texts me from across the room saying the guy next to me is awesome - it's Chris Johnson, who trains some of the best NBA players on the planet. Ben approached him, and I don't know exactly what he said, but by the end of the event, this trainer comes up to me and says:

'I knew I was coming to this event for a reason, but I didn't know why. This man was the reason.' He points at Ben and says 'Brother, anything you need, I got you.'

The trainer then tells me, 'I'm a trainer, I work with athletes. When they're in a slump they call me, when they want their next contract they call me. I'm always helping, driving to people's houses, flying there, doing this and that. I'm always pouring into other people. Ben, you filled me up, you poured into me.'

The next morning, Ben goes with him to his facility, does a 2-hour session where the trainer corrects Ben's form. There were other NBA players there. He made Ben wear a weighted vest and this special shooting glove he invented - he made a whole experience out of it. This guy didn't have to do any of that, but two magnets met and something special happened."
