Sam's Lead Price Validation

Sam shares a story about how he validated a lead generation business idea in the trucking industry.

"I was testing a lead gen site and I emailed another lead gen site asking if they would buy leads from me and how much. They said they would pay $100 per lead for qualified commercial driver license folks if I could verify it with a picture of their license.

I assumed $100 was the lowest price point, so I went on LinkedIn and emailed marketing and growth managers at actual trucking companies. They told me they pay $150 per lead. This gave me a range of $100-150 per lead.

Then I drove ads and traffic to a website to get this information. I was able to get leads for $250. Even though I was losing money initially, I figured if I could get leads at $250 and they're willing to pay $150, there was potential to make it profitable with optimization."
