Partner Death Financial Blindspot

Sam Parr shares a recurring dream he's had since becoming a parent about financial household responsibilities.

"Ever since we had a kid, I have this weird dream. I dream that my wife dies, and three weeks after her death, I realize I don't even know basic information about our household. The way our household works is I focus on making the money, and she is in charge of tracking and spending it - paying rent, mortgages, and things like that.

In my dream, after she died, I'm thinking 'Who do I pay this rent to?' I literally don't know what health insurance provider we have or how they get their money. I don't even know who our dentist is. It honestly freaked me out, and I couldn't imagine being on the other side of that - not knowing how we earn versus how we spend."
