Dance Builds Confidence

Shaan tells a story about an important lesson he learned about confidence and physical presence from a dancer in Australia.

"I dated a girl once in Australia - well, we didn't really date, we were just in the flirting phase. She was a dancer and she was teaching me how to dance. She was like a sambo champion or something like that. She was teaching me and said 'okay, put your hand here' and then she looked at my hand. I was like 'I put it right where you said' and she was like 'yeah but look at it.'

I looked at it and my hand was just limp - there was no firmness to it. She goes 'if you're gonna touch a girl, touch with intent.' I literally have never forgotten that. That was like 15 years ago. In my head I'm always like, I got taught a real lesson in man stuff that day. I didn't even really understand what she meant, but that was the first time I got taught about presence."
