"Dr. Dre did the same thing and people were like 'why would you do that?' Here's what happened: He recently got divorced and owed his wife half of what he had. He probably made $500 million off of Beats - half of that went to his wife.

Then there was another article that said in the divorce it was released that they were spending $3 million a month on travel and clothes. That's $36 million a year. So he actually probably needed the money."
