Emotional Decisions Cost Business

Sam shares a story about how his emotional decision-making has cost him in business.

"I lose my temper and get very emotional. I've lost a lot of money doing that. For example, with an employee who has maybe underperformed even though they talk like they're hot stuff - I would just fire them instead of thinking 'we could definitely salvage this.'

There's lots of ways to salvage things and make them better for a net positive, but more often than not I'll be like 'No, I'm out, I don't want to deal with the headache.' It's a very emotional decision. Sometimes it's ego, oftentimes it's temper, but mostly if I think someone is trying to get one over on me, I'm like 'fuck them, I want to crush them.'

I make a ton of emotional decisions as opposed to practical decisions."

[Shaan confirms this trait, mentioning Sam has gotten mad at him before when Sam thought Shaan was trying to take advantage, though that wasn't Shaan's intent. Sam gives an example where he got mad at Shaan for being late, thinking "he doesn't care about this."]
