"Quest has sold over 20 million units, with the majority being Quest 1 and Quest 2. Quest 3 has currently sold a million units at the $500 price point. They've done over a billion dollars in revenue. It's actually outpaced PS5 sales.
The Quest 1 came out wireless - it was kind of crappy, but I could sit on my couch and use it. It was cheap and became a great Christmas gift. In year 2, they didn't have inventory. They released Quest 2, which got even better - lighter, more powerful. Now Quest 3 is coming out, and they've got about 5 to 10 million monthly active headsets out there.
Because it's cheaper than a PS5, the Quest 2 was available during Christmas and went to kids around 12-14 years old. These kids don't have the bias we have - for them, TV feels ancient, desktop feels ancient, and this thing on their face actually feels fresh and new."
