Customer Service Prevents Fraud

A story about how credit card company agents recognized a serial fraudster when a victim came forward.
"The women go to the credit card company and say 'I have to be honest, my boyfriend, this guy is tricking me.' They show a picture of him on their phone, and the two agents from Amex just look at each other and say 'It's him.'
The agents tell her 'We've been after this guy for years. He does this with tons of women.' So these women discover they've been both cheated on and conned at the same time.
The interesting part is technically he wasn't breaking the law. The women were giving him money willingly, sending it themselves, and even calling the credit card companies saying 'Can you please raise my limits? Yes, I'm traveling in Ibiza right now.' So they were in a sticky spot - they couldn't claim he stole it because they clearly gave it to him. In fact, they kind of committed fraud themselves by lying to raise their credit limits."
