CuraCubby's Autism Origins

A story about how CuraCubby, a school management software company, was started by a father of an autistic child.

"This guy Steven had an autistic kid. After his kid was diagnosed with autism, he thought 'I don't feel like sending him to a normal school, I don't think they're gonna do anything.' So he started a school, and 20 kids in the neighborhood went to it.

While managing the school, he realized it was a pain. He lived in Oakland where many parents were tech guys, and he found another parent who sent his kid to his school. Together, they decided to build software that makes it easy to collect tuition payments and pay bills - basically like Bill.com + Quickbooks + Eventbrite, so you can handle payments and check into after-school programs.

They are crushing it now. It's just 4 guys and they've grown to $2.4 million in recurring revenue."
