Tokyo Blind Date Form
Share
A story about Nick Gray's viral Tokyo blind date experiment, as told by Shaan Puri.
"Nick did this thing where he says 'I want to go to Tokyo but I don't want to go alone.' He fills out this Google form and says 'I want to take one person on a blind date with me to Tokyo.' He gets thousands of responses, picks a girl, and almost falls in love on this date. He does the whole thing publicly and it goes viral.
Then he goes to India for like a month. When I asked what he was doing there, he says 'Oh I just love the culture, I just wanted to go. I have a couple friends I've met in other travels and I want to visit their hometown.' So he goes to these remote towns in India, learning their way of life and their foods.
While there, he learns that in India they run matrimonial ads in the newspaper - that's how my mom met my dad. Nick finds this so amusing, he decides to run his own matrimonial ads. He starts A/B testing different versions, including details like '59 full set of teeth' and mentions of his blog."
