Rockefeller's Stress Alopecia
Share
A story about how John Rockefeller developed a stress-induced medical condition from overworking.
"John Rockefeller at the end of his life, do you know what alopecia is? He had alopecia. At the age of 50, he lost all of his hair. That's a stress-induced disease, at least a lot of people think so.
It was a very common thing amongst these guys like Joseph Kennedy, John Rockefeller having to retire or take a 3-month sabbatical because they're broken. In the 1800s and 1900s, there's a pretty common story amongst these types where doctors would be like 'you need fresh air, you have to go to Florida, you're having a nervous breakdown.'"
