Beehive Overcomes CTO Loss

A story about how Beehive's founder demonstrated remarkable resilience and leadership when dealing with his CTO's death while still maintaining product development.

"We were a biggest customer of theirs, and one time something didn't happen in the 2 weeks they promised. I was complaining like 'Come on, where's that feature? We really need it.' His response was 'I'm so sorry, we're just dealing with something right now.'

His cofounder/CTO had passed away during the startup, and they were dealing with that. He handled it as well as a human being can handle it - being totally gracious and empathetic about what was going on, but also understood he had to keep moving forward and figure this out. It wasn't easy - there were all kinds of things you don't even think about, like not having passwords to different systems.

Just seeing how somebody overcomes adversity and deals with really tough situations - character is revealed in moments of difficulty. Seeing how he handled something like that, I thought 'This guy is going to figure things out.'"
