Doctor Friend Saves Life
Share
A story about how Dan Gilbert survived a potentially fatal stroke due to fortunate circumstances.
"About 2 years ago, Dan Gilbert had a massive stroke while on the golf course with a friend who happened to be a doctor. When Dan mentioned having strange symptoms, his doctor friend got him to the hospital immediately. He ended up having the stroke while in the hospital, where they were able to perform a special procedure that saved his life. If he hadn't been in the hospital at that moment, he might have died or had much worse outcomes.
During this same period, ironically, his net worth grew from about 6-8 billion to 57 billion dollars. But as you might expect, he would probably give it all away to not have had the stroke."
