IRS Trading Bot Documentation
Share
A story about someone who created an elaborate scheme to waste the IRS's time and resources through malicious compliance.
"Someone tweeted this at us - it was a forum post where this guy wrote: 'I have a bot running 24/7 that's buying and selling for zero target profit just to waste the IRS's manpower and money. I print and send to the IRS all the documentation about every trade in paper form so they can't automate it.
I mix blank pages, double print, ghost print, use black and white. I number the pages and put them out of order. I have people randomly scribbling drawings into the pages. I send it as a whole palette of paper trades - I even have to hire a guy with a forklift just to send it.
This costs me thousands of dollars every year, and I make sure to send them an invoice so they know I am paying real money on top of the pallet. Whoever's in charge knows I am wasting the equivalent of 2 months of their wage on this asinine behavior on top of wasting their time.'
I don't even really understand their mission, but I respect the mission-drivenness of this initiative where there's no gain - it's just mutually assured destruction on both parties."
