Dropbox Security Shapes Strategy

A story about how Christina's experience with Dropbox's security team influenced her future business direction.

"When I was at Dropbox, I worked with this product security team and they were great. They were super fun and really good educators. It wasn't that they hosted seminars - when they wanted you to fix something, they'd come over, sit next to you, and explain why it was important.

In coming up with startup ideas, I thought security seemed like a deep enough, interesting space. If I worked in it for years, there would be lots of opportunities. Even if I couldn't come up with anything and ended up burning 18 months of my life learning about security on the internet, it could have been worse.

It was this kind of competitive cat and mouse thing with attackers. I'm very competitive - should have played more sports as a kid - and through Vanta, I found an outlet for that energy. The security space seemed really interesting, and working with that great security team at Dropbox helped me see that."
