Buffett's Unconventional Marriage
Share
A story about Warren Buffett's unconventional marriage arrangement with his wife Susie and her friend Astrid.
"His wife Susie was like a hippie and they were married and he loved her, but one day she goes, 'Warren, I just want to go off to San Francisco and do my own thing, but we're not gonna get a divorce.' He's like 'alright cool' and she goes 'also I have my friend named Astrid, she's gonna come over and take care of you.'
Within a week of Astrid taking care of Buffett, they became lovers and she moves in. However, they're all friends with each other. Susie would say 'Astrid, I think you should redecorate the house from when I did it, it's getting a little old.'
When Buffett has to go to big presidential public meetings, Susie comes. When he wants to do local stuff that doesn't require press, Astrid comes. And every once in a while, if it's a really big thing, they'll both go and team up to support him. It's very interesting and strange."
