Foreign Social Media Attacks

Scott Galloway shares his experience with coordinated attacks on social media and his investigation into them.

"I hired a firm to unmask some of the people who were attacking me. It was clearly the same language, using fake accounts. It was almost always someone who had a large financial position in a company that I said was overvalued.

I think it's also political. I've been very critical of Putin. If I were Putin, I would spend a small amount of money - I'm spending $100 billion a year in Ukraine and 100,000 lives - why wouldn't I take 5% of that, or $5 billion, and take some bright scientists to do AI-generated AB testing? Create a list of my 5-7-10,000 biggest detractors who are pro-Ukraine and start slowly undermining their authority on social media platforms that have amoral management teams who will cash my checks.

You can test this - go on and talk about Ukraine, and you'll start to see a lot of people attacking you personally and professionally who are anonymous. The fastest path to victory in Ukraine for Putin is the election of Donald Trump and reducing public support for the war. Why would they be stupid not to have the GRU identify the 10,000 biggest supporters of Ukraine and slowly undermine their credibility, especially on platforms that will cash anybody's checks?"
