TikTok Password Sharing Experiment

Sam Parr shares a story about an unusual social media growth experiment where he gave his TikTok password to a stranger.

"I get DM'ed all the time with people offering to create content for free. I usually say no to everyone, but I gave this one kid a chance. I told him I'd give him my TikTok password, but first he had to send me pictures of his social security card, driver's license, and boss - because if he screwed me over, I wanted to be able to get him back.

In just one week, this kid took videos from our podcast and posted them daily on TikTok. He got 1.5 million views total, growing the account from zero to 8-9,000 followers. One video got 500,000 views, another got 700,000, and several others got 50,000+ views.

To test if the engagement was real, we did a video about my favorite book. After I recommended it, the book shot up to #1 in the entrepreneurship category and #1 in the business category on Amazon. We did it again with the same book 'How to Get Rich,' and it reached #1 in entrepreneurship again. The video got over 500,000 views.

I still can't decide if this TikTok game is real or worth it. The results are incredible, but the content isn't that interesting - it's just like every other money person and influencer doing the same thing."
