Brett shares the origin story of how his company Archer Aviation got its name.
"In early 2018, I went to an electric aircraft design course at a Hyatt hotel in Atlanta. For two days, I sat being lectured on how to build electric aircraft from scratch - learning about propulsion, aerodynamics, and batteries. All my heroes in electric aviation were there.
One of the guys there was doing his PhD at the University of Florida in electric aviation. When I mentioned I also went to UF for undergrad, he insisted I come see their lab. I got on a plane to Gainesville and met the head of mechanical and aerospace engineering. They had this 12-person lab building hobby-grade electric aircraft drones.
I said 'I want to take this lab over and build electric aircraft.' This lab happened to be off of Archer Road - so I called the business Archer Aviation."
