Sam Parr shares a story about discrimination he faced when getting contractor quotes for his ranch property.
"I had a Tesla at the time and I would be in the country and have these workers come to put in a bid to pave the driveway. I would get a $70,000 quote and a $3,000 quote - that was the delta. It was all because of the way I looked and they're like 'this guy doesn't know shit.' I got taken advantage of so many times it sucked.
This was part of my learning that owning and operating real estate yourself is difficult. I thought it would be cool to own a lot of land, but I hated it. Any real estate that I was just an investor in, I loved it. But anything I fully owned and wanted to make my thing because of pride, I failed miserably."
