Ligma Twitter Prank Benefits
Share
A story about how a random engineer pulled off a viral prank by pretending to be fired from Twitter during Elon Musk's takeover.
"When Elon bought Twitter, there was this guy that went and stood outside the Twitter office with a giant cardboard box. He pretended to be a data science engineer at Twitter who got fired. The reporters were asking him what he thought about Elon and how it felt to be fired.
He didn't work at Twitter - he was a giant troll. He had sent a text an hour earlier saying 'There's hella people outside of Twitter, I'm just gonna take a box and pretend I got fired.' Him and his buddy went with empty cardboard boxes and tricked reporters from CNBC and all these places.
He said his name was Rahul Ligma (as in 'ligma these nuts') and his friend was Daniel Johnson. So it was Ligma and Johnson pretending to be fired. The best part was he was holding up a Michelle Obama book, and when asked about getting fired under Elon, he said 'This would have never happened under Michelle Obama' which makes no sense.
Now months later, we saw him sitting courtside at the Warriors game with two billionaires. This guy probably went to college, studied hard, spent $150k getting a degree, was trying to make his startup successful - but the thing that catapulted him was this random troll he decided to do."
