Goalie's Extravagant Creator Rewards

Robert Oliver shares a story about how the Goalie brand used extravagant incentives to attract creators to promote their products.

"This brand comes in and in an effort to get as many creators as possible, put together all these prizes. The number one prize - if you did a million dollars in sales for them in a month, I believe they'd give you a condo in Brickell or the cash equivalent, which is like $600,000 or something like that. Lamborghini was the next one - it was like this rewards tier list. Rolexes left and right.

And you're selling Goalie gummies - they just make these apple cider vinegar gummies, which was a holistic health wellness thing. Apple cider vinegar supposedly has benefits in your gut. That was the narrative at the time.

A good brand like Goalie comes in and they set the stage for how creators are being treated. Obviously they have a lot of money and they're trying to mess the game up for everyone else. They can afford that and maybe lose some money, but then if you're this startup brand owner coming in, you're like 'No man, I don't wanna give you 25% commission, I'm gonna give you 20,' and that can be super off-putting."
