Gartner Acquires Aventa

Sam Parr shares a story about Aventa, a community platform for Chief Information Officers that was acquired by Gartner.
"Aventa was sold to Gartner for like $250-300 million, and it was almost like the same thing [as World 50] but it was worse because it was advertising driven. They would host these webinars where chief information officers would come and do group therapy, explain pros and cons, discuss how to work remote, and complain and improve with one another.
They would charge companies like Bank of America or some big sponsor money to be there, and they sold the company to Gartner for like $300 million."
