Drug Users Farm Neighborhoods

David Selinger shares a disturbing pattern of systematic mail theft driven by meth users across neighborhoods.

"Meth has led to this really weird pattern of what I call 'agricultural mail theft.' You'll see posts on Nextdoor like 'Hey, I saw this guy checking my door handles or checking my mailbox.' Then everyone in the neighborhood for like 15 miles says 'Oh I saw that same person too.'

Meth has created this entire lifestyle where these people go 'farm' neighborhoods. They follow a cyclical schedule, going from this neighborhood tonight, to this neighborhood next week, and so on. They literally check every single door, every single mailbox, treating it like they're tending plants.

What's interesting is they're actually careful when stealing wallets and mail. When they put your mail back, it's very infrequent that you see them just throwing it on the ground because that ruins their 'agricultural area.' When you watch the video, they open your door and are very careful putting your mail back because the last thing they want is for somebody to find out.

Frequently on Nextdoor, people will say 'Oh my god, I went back through my cameras for the last 3 months and this guy's been coming every 4 days. I only happened to notice this one time because he took something too valuable.' Your doors and mailbox are getting checked way more than you're aware of."
