Viral Balanced Metaverse Tweet

Shaan shares a story about how his viral tweet about the metaverse reached millions through careful content presentation.
"This thing reached somewhere between 10 and 20 million people in the US, but then it also got shared like crazy on Instagram and in China - some big Chinese social media influencers posted it. Logan Paul was talking about it on his podcast, Mark Zuckerberg referenced this in a Lex Friedman interview.
I think it went so far because it had three things: First, it was timely - this was right when Facebook had rebranded to Meta. Second, everybody had this sixth sense and suspicion that everyone was bullshitting about the metaverse, but nobody was saying what it actually was or why it's the future. I was calling bullshit, which generally gets people to click and read.
The last thing was I backed it up with a good perspective. My take was that the metaverse isn't about virtual reality - it's more like the concept of singularity. It's this tipping point where more and more things that are important to you live on the internet. At some point, we're just going to value our digital stuff more than physical stuff, in the sense that we'll spend more time, energy, and money online than offline."
