Tim's Brand Precision

Sam Parr shares a story about Tim Ferriss's extreme attention to detail with his brand and public communications.

"I interviewed Tim for The Hustle once over the phone. After I transcribed it, there were instances where I made errors. He was right to point them out. He didn't yell at me, but he was very specific about corrections. I would write the word 'hadn't' instead of 'had not' - he said 'had not' and I wrote 'hadn't'. I was wrong, and he very specifically called that out. He'd point out things like 'there shouldn't be a comma here, there should be a period and a new sentence.'

Everything about his brand - what you see in public and what he writes - is very specific and incredibly well thought out. We almost had him speak at a conference once and he wanted to know exactly who would be there. I'm thinking 'why does it matter, just wing it' but that's not his style at all. Everything had a purpose.

I remember being upset when he corrected me about the transcript, but then I realized - no, he's right. He has a brand and he's sticking to it."
