The Entrepreneurial Commitment Test

  • 100% - Basic Entrepreneurship

    • Have entrepreneurial mindset
    • Want to build something of their own
    • Willing to take risks
  • 60-70% - Clear Vision

    • Know exactly what they want to build
    • Have specific goals and direction
    • Can articulate their mission clearly
  • 20% - Wildly Ambitious Vision

    • Goals are extremely large scale
    • Willing to think at unprecedented levels
    • Example: MrBeast wants to be richest/most famous person and president
  • 1-2% - Kamikaze Commitment

    • Willing to sacrifice everything for the vision
    • Characteristics:
      • Reinvest all profits back into the business
      • Work 24/7 with no work-life balance
      • Ignore traditional lifestyle elements
      • Have support staff available 24/7
      • Focus solely on their mission
    • Example traits from MrBeast:
      • Has runners available 24/7 for any need
      • Doesn't know pop culture/movies as focused only on YouTube
      • Works 7 days until burnout, then brief recovery
      • Reinvests all money back into videos ($1.5M per video)
      • Ignores traditional rules/limitations

Key Insights

  • Most entrepreneurs aren't willing to pay the full price of kamikaze commitment
  • The truly obsessed often seem "alien" compared to normal entrepreneurs
  • This level of commitment often comes with personal sacrifices
  • Success at the highest level may require this extreme dedication
