Barber Transforms Birmingham

A story about how George Barber used his family's dairy business fortune to create a world-class motorsports facility in Birmingham, Alabama.
"There's this guy in Birmingham, Alabama named George Barber. He's probably 80 years old now. His father started a dairy company - just an Alabama dairy company. They sold it to Dean Foods for $500 million.
With that money, he started the Barber Track and Barber Motorcycle and Car Museum. He has something like 1,000 or 2,000 cars and I believe it's the largest collection of motorcycles in the whole world. He has this world-class track where Indy cars and Rolex-sponsored Formula 1 races take place. People from all over Europe and Monaco come to Birmingham, Alabama for this Barber racetrack.
It's done so much for the community. He invested probably $50 million to make it because it's a nonprofit. You can look at how many assets they have, how much cash they have, and what their revenue is - it's amazing. People might think 'how much can a car museum and track help the community?' but it actually helps tremendously because everyone's always saying 'I'm gonna go to Barber soon and take this lesson.'"
