MrBeast Reinvests Profits

A discussion about MrBeast's recreation of Squid Game and the impressive business strategy behind it.

"MrBeast recreated Squid Games but without the death part. He invited 456 people to this arena that was built specifically for this. The winner would get $456,000, runner-up got $10k, and everybody who participated got $2,000 each. Total production and prize money was about $3.5 million for this 25-minute video.

The players wore the same outfits as Squid Games with green windbreaker jumpsuits and numbers from 1 to 456. They had packs with exploding paint inside their shirts - if they got eliminated, the pack would explode with red paint as if they got shot. Player 27 ended up winning the $456,000.

The numbers were incredible - the video got 130 million views in 7 days, which is about the same as the actual Squid Games got on Netflix (142 million). He gained 10 million new subscribers in the first week, when normally he gets 400,000 subscribers per week.

On the business side, with his premium YouTube CPM rates (around $10), he likely made $1.3 million just from ad revenue in the first week. Plus, he probably got the whole thing paid for by sponsors and kept all the YouTube ad revenue."
