Chess.com Growth Milestones

Sam Parr shares updated statistics about Chess.com's massive success, revealing they had previously underestimated the platform's reach.
"We actually underestimated Chess.com. They get around 200 million monthly uniques and have 60 million registered users. Their traffic has grown significantly. If I had to guess, they do at least 100 million in recurring revenue subscription revenue. Potentially it's worth a billion dollars. It's a super fascinating company.
It really fits what we call the New Zealand type of business that Andrew Wilkinson coined - it's this independent thing, has a cult following, it's profitable, it's simple, and nobody competes with it. The biggest competitor is called Lichess, which is basically an open source free alternative. While Lichess is also doing extremely well, people seem to prefer Chess.com."
