Rabbi's Blackberry Connection

A story about how Jojo Hedaya met his co-founder Josh through their rabbi because they were the only two people with Blackberries.

"When we were in Israel together, we were about 100 people and only 2 people in the entire school had a Blackberry - me and Josh. Our rabbi came to us and said 'Guys, I got a little bit of advice for you.' When your rabbi is telling you something and you want to be a good Jewish boy, you're gonna listen to your rabbi. He said 'Jojo, Josh, you both have Blackberries and you both like business - be friends.'

We laughed and said alright, we'll give it a shot. It was love at first sight. We figured out our birthdays were both December 30, 1989, and we stayed up the entire night watching the first season of Gossip Girl. Later on, we ended up going to Burgers Bar for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and really became very good friends.

Two years later we decided to start a company together. But instead of building one company, our idea was we're going to build 12 companies in one year. We thought since 99% of startups fail, chances are better if we build one company a month. We had no idea how hard it was to build a company, but we gave it a shot."
