Zynga Building Exceeds Value
Share
A story about how Zynga's office building and amenities were worth more than the company itself at one point, with a focus on their extravagant culinary operation.
"I went to Zynga and met the head chef there. He ran a culinary team of 40 people - that was just the internal culinary team at Zynga. When you show up at Zynga, first there's like 94 dogs running around, an insane amount of dogs. Their logo's a dog and there's 2 dogs for every employee.
I went into the kitchen and was walking around. The chef says 'Yeah, we do our own butchering' and opens this 40-foot fridge where there were just cows hanging upside down. He's like 'I break that down every morning.' He had homemade kombucha on tap with no label.
The funny part is I think if you Google 'Zynga building,' they owned this building in San Francisco and I think they sold it for $250 million at a time when the market cap of the company was $200 million. The building sold for more than the company was worth at the time."
