Choosing Microwave-Free Life
Share
Sam Parr shares a story about encountering people who choose alternative lifestyle choices, particularly around modern conveniences.
"I remember the first time 3 years ago I went to my friend's house and he didn't have a microwave. I said 'What? You don't have a microwave?' He explained it was bad for certain reasons. At first I thought 'You're a freak - we all have microwaves, you're the weirdo.'
Then I started thinking about it and asked 'Tell me why you think you might be right?' This led me to discover more examples. Now a lot of my friends refuse to use plastic tupperware or plastic anything that you eat with. When I first heard this I thought 'Well why? I just put my thing in microwave, who cares?'
These are the kinds of alternative lifestyle choices I love learning about, even if I don't necessarily agree with or want to live that way myself."
