Lambda School's 80% Completion

Shaan shares a story about how Lambda School achieved unusually high completion rates in online education.

"I invested in Lambda School and they had like an 80% completion rate when I invested way back in the day. I knew something was different about this company because I knew the standard is 6% and these guys had 80+.

I asked what they did different and they said 'Well, it's live - you show up to class with a bunch of other students and a teacher.' Also, we do good filtering up top. Most course companies are trying to sell as many seats as possible, but Lambda School is the opposite. They're like Harvard - trying to only accept the 1% of students that are actually going to do the thing.

So depending on the business model, you can get wildly different outcomes."
