In-House Manufacturing Journey
Share
A story about how Dani and Jordan developed their manufacturing capabilities for their hair care brand Divvy.
"We found a manufacturer that had chemists in house and they developed our serum. We totally got lucky with our first manufacturer because there's a lot of bad manufacturers out there, and you don't know until 6 months later. Picking the good ones has been hard.
Now we have two in-house chemists. With the influencer business, we learned so much from having a manager that we've always tried to be entrepreneurs in-house and bring everything in-house. It's usually longer, you make more mistakes, it's harder, but we like where we're at. We didn't have someone come in and say 'just slap your name on this.' We're able to listen to our audience and develop the products that we know they want.
Last year was very difficult because it was just Danny and I running everything. Now we have a suite of VPs, and we're setting the stage to go international in 2024. We'd like to do it without having to raise additional capital - we've done everything thus far ourselves, which is very unique."
