$850M Entrepreneur Feels Insecure
Share
Sam Parr shares a story about a dinner conversation with Andrew Wilkinson, revealing how wealth doesn't necessarily bring financial security.
"We had dinner with Andrew - his company as of Friday was worth 850 million in Canadian. We were talking about personal motivating factors and he said, 'I was motivated because I wanted to feel secure financially, because for some reason I always felt insecure as a kid.'
I asked him, 'Do you feel secure now?' And he said, 'You know what, not really.'
It was eye-opening because here's someone worth that much and they still don't feel secure. I realized that might be the learning - you don't feel secure. A lot of people don't feel secure regardless of what they have or what they don't have. It's the same feeling of 'it's not enough' or 'it can get taken away.'"
