Camera After Audience

Saagar shares a story about how creators often focus on equipment before content, and when he actually invested in expensive camera gear.
"I get approached by a lot of people asking 'Will this light do it for me? Will this camera?' I tell them 'Camera's not your problem - your content's the problem. Make content good, everything falls after that.'
I recently spent $60,000 on cameras, but that's after 3 years of doing this. Needing 4K cameras was an added benefit for my existing audience, not what I needed as a requisite to start. There's really just a baseline level of production - a pop filter, a Yeti USB mic, and a basic webcam. It has not a high startup cost.
Everybody's like 'What about my thumbnails?' Listen, thumbnails matter, headlines matter, all that other stuff matters, but what matters most is if the content is good."
